Introduction So I have been meditating since 2008, and like some mystics I came to meditation from a point of severe despair in my life. What started me meditating was simply reading a book called The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle-- and though I love the book, at this point I think it is good for more of a mindfulness-focused practice than the best possible mystic practice. I want to say that I am doing my best to reason about this stuff based on my experience, other mystic's experiences who I respect and see as being advanced, and mystic teachings I find similarly most worthwhile.
